Call Today for Free Legal Immigration Assistance

At Wayne Township Adult Education (WTAE) immigrants and refugees walk into our school to learn English.  Many of our students have a desire to become citizens. On August 10, WTAE launched a Citizenship Class designed to equip 30 students with the information and vocabulary needed to master content on the 100 questions posed at interview.  On August 15 the M.S.D. of Wayne Township Language Assistance Program (LAP), WTAE and the Immigrant Welcome Center (IWC) worked together to host the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) workshop on “How to Become a Citizen”.  Over seventy community members were present to hear directly from the US Government about the steps for applying for citizenship.

On September 15 from 10 to 2 in celebration of Welcoming Week, WTAE, LAP, and IWC will open our doors at Ben Davis University door #2 to offer free immigrant assistance provided by American Immigration Lawyer Association (AILA).  AILA will have 12 attorneys on site to provide pro bono (free) services to help interested community members file their N400 and waiver forms for the Citizenship.  This event is limited to 75 participants, it is important to prequalify by calling 317-808-2326.  The prequalification process will help a community member determine if they are eligible for these offered services.

WTAE’s team and partners are proud to be a part of offering these three vital services for members within our community. We encourage you to connect others to these opportunities.

Sincerely,

Christy McIntyre

“Nearly all Americans have ancestors who braved the oceans – liberty-loving risk takers in search of an ideal – the largest voluntary migrations in recorded history… Immigration is not just a link to America’s past; it’s also a bridge to America’s future.”
George W. Bush

“More than any other nation on Earth, America has constantly drawn strength and spirit from wave after wave of immigrants. In each generation, they have proved to be the most restless, the most adventurous, the most innovative, the most industrious of people. Bearing different memories, honoring different heritages, they have strengthened our economy, enriched our culture, renewed our promise of freedom and opportunity for all….”
Bill Clinton
