Do For You?
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on what your goals are and where you start. When you enter Wayne Adult Education, we will give you assessments to determine your academic abilities and/or career goals. We will map out a pathway for you to achieve your goals in the most efficient way that fits your life. The timeline is different for everyone, and how long it takes will be determined by those factors. The timeline will be communicated to you after those factors are determined so that you will know exactly how long it will take for YOU to accomplish YOUR GOALS.
There are a variety of ways that you can qualify for scholarship funding, but here are the basics. In order to qualify, you must:
• Take the TABE test and score between 9th and 12th grade level on that test.
• Accumulate at least 12 hours in adult ed classes to be considered an “enrolled student.”
• Complete the career training enrollment packet.
• Be willing to invest the time and energy to complete and credential in your career field.
As always, our classes are FREE to students. Even when you set a career goal, we will help you to figure out how you can qualify for and access scholarships that will cover the cost of your career training and certification, which is a value of up to $3000!.
An IET stands for Integrated Education and Training, and it pairs a Wayne Adult Ed teacher with a training provider, providing the added support of an extra teacher to help with skills remediation relating to that career field.
Of course we can still help people who didn’t finish high school, as we always have, but NOW we can also help high school graduates, whether they graduated last year or twenty years ago! We also continue to help immigrants and others who want to learn English. We’re not just the GED anymore!
We still help students to earn their high school equivalency (called the HSE now instead of GED), but we can also help students to earn nationally-recognized career certifications, whether they already have a diploma or not. We help anyone interested in a better career to get certified and work in competitive fields! The process starts the moment they walk in the door.
No! We serve students in Marion, Morgan, and Hendricks County. We have partners in Wayne Township, Mooresville, Plainfield, Avon, and Brownsburg.
