Student Spotlight: Daniela

My name is Daniela E. I am from El Salvador. I came to the USA in March 2022 with a dream of becoming a nurse. Despite the fact that I completed high school in El Salvador, there is a serious need for me to learn how to speak and write in English.

Since my arrival in America, I realized that there are lots of opportunities,  but I can only benefit from them if I am able to develop my communication skills.

Most of the time when I am in the midst of my friends, especially at work, expressing myself and sharing ideas can be difficult and frustrating no matter how hard I try to keep up. In fact, I had lost several opportunities because of my inability to express myself in English.

Coming to WTAE is significant because I want to take the bull by the horns by removing all barriers that could debar me from achieving my full potential in life. Even though I am finding English a bit harder to understand than I envisioned, my teachers are so patient and provide me with different kinds of materials to help my situation. They always encourage me not to be dispirited.

I am giving it my best and I believe in no time I will be celebrated and become a mentor to others.
