Student Spotlight: Meet Richard!

Student Spotlight: Meet Richard W.

To become successful in the United States has a lot to do with an individual’s ability to write and speak good English. It helps you to relate well with people, especially in the workplace. I don’t feel good about myself  anytime my boss passes out instructions and I can’t understand. My name is Richard and this is exactly my experience before I came to Wayne Township Adult Education.

I relocated to America from Haiti in 2020 in search of  a better life. In Haiti I worked  in a hotel and received paychecks that couldn’t support my college fees. I made the hard decision and embarked for a greener pasture.

Life in America is far better than where I come from because of the various opportunities she offers. But opportunities are nothing without hard work and the ability to communicate in English. This is why I enrolled at Wayne Township Adult Education.

Before I came to  Adult Education, my spoken and written English was low, but right now, I can speak and write in English, paving the way for me to be able to secure a new and better job.

I am so appreciative of my teachers because they are so patient with me.
