Colleen Tennery is entering her 19th year as an educator and has taught adult education courses in math, language, and reading for the past two years. With a Master’s degree in Education and a Juris Doctor degree—because apparently one graduate degree was not enough—she is passionate about supporting adult learners from diverse educational backgrounds by building academic confidence, strengthening practical skills, and making learning engaging and approachable. In addition to her adult education work, she serves as the THRIVE Coach for Wayne Township, where she gets to work with life skills students, teachers, paraeducators, and families. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, singing with the Indianapolis Women’s Chorus, and spending time with her family while living under the strict supervision of her dog, Dory, and cat, Ivan Joe, who firmly believe they run the household.
