Karen Finchum is a retired public school teacher who loves teaching. Now she teaches adults at Ben Davis University ELL program. She taught in public schools for 34 years and has taught adults for the past 9 years. Karen has a masters and additional studies in teaching reading, math and science. When she is not with family and friends, Karen teaches a zoom class for friends at church. She works in the yard. Karen was married for 42 years until her husband passed in 2022. Her two daughters both live in the Los Angels area so she visits when she is able. Her grandson was born September 19, 2025 and gives her additional reasons to want to visit and stay in touch with her loved ones. Karen is very active in her church, Abundant Vida Nueva United Methodist Church and finds great joy and love participating in its functions.
