Student Spotlight: Meet Rufin!
“Rufin is my name and this is my story.
I spent one and a half years in a University in Georgia learning to read and write English but could not finish up because I could no longer finance it. This really made me so unhappy because I am from the Central Africa Republic and the official language is French! Here in America, you cannot go far unless you are able to converse in English.
Back in Bangui, I practiced herbal medicine. My intention, having arrived in the US, was to take it to the next level by studying pharmacy, allowing me to serve other people.
I moved to Indiana only for me to discover that what I spent years to learn with hard earned money without achieving anything is being freely given in Wayne Township Adult Education. What an irony of life! Gladly, I began to attend English classes, getting me closer to pursuing my career path in pharmacy.
Even though I work in a factory to sustain myself and family back in Africa, Wayne Township Adult Education has rekindled the hope in me of achieving my dream of becoming a certified pharmacist!”
